Loving Silas

Cousin Ashton gives Silas some love.

Proud big brother.

Sharing a laugh.

Sweet nap.

Guemes

Four days after Silas was born, we headed to Guemes to have some quiet, family time. Getting there with a newborn was a little nuts, but once there, we settled in and spent a good part of three weeks on the island. It was heaven....

Our friend, Brigid, came to visit. Here, she and Liam watch the sun set and "skip" rocks.

We also hosted a birthday party for Gabe, including a fun day in the sun and a yummy crab dinner on the beach.

...picking crab for breakfast? A true island boy.

Silas is born

Wow. I can't believe it has been almost five weeks since Silas was born. I don't sit down to the computer much - never did before, but much less now! :) Anyway, here are some pictures from the birth days. The photo above is while I was in labor at home. Liam and I were reading Winnie the Pooh...in between the early contractions. About an hour after this picture was taken, he went down to Mount Vernon with Gabe's mom for the day.

Sweet rest.

Sweet baby.

Baby Shower

Here are a couple of shots from my shower this morning.

Enjoying the spread.

With Kirstin (due in July)

Telling a story....I think?

Sunny afternoon

Amidst the painting project, I took a little break and came out on the porch for a cat nap. Gabe took these pictures.

The old papasan.

Painting projects and kale

With help from Lisette and Michael, Gabe and I were able to finish repairing our walls (thanks, Michael!!) and painting the front two rooms. Yes, it was a push (two days), but we got it done...just in time for my baby shower Sunday morning.

What do we think of this color???

Our living room...the day before the baby shower. Yikes!

Harvesting Liam's kale.

Memorial Day Weekend

We enjoyed a soggy, but fun Memorial Day Weekend out at Cypress. Liam had a great time with Drew and Ben. We enjoyed one of our final weekends away, sans bebe (or at least, bebe in belly) :)

Sitting atop the new fort.

Liam, Drew and Ben...the amigos.

A little row.

Liam love

Some love from big brother-to-be.

My little man.....wish I could teach him to cook dinner....safely.

The Sandbox

Our latest, and probably most appreciated, addition to the backyard. Liam's sandbox. One truck load of sand later and Liam is one happy boy.

Liam, Will and Christian enjoy together.

Early summer

Auntie Lenie, Mutti and Poppi came up for a visit the other day. Lenie just graduated from college - yippee! Congrats! Our new nurse in the family.

The Parade of the Species

Last Saturday, Liam and I walked in the parade of the species. It is a very "Bellingham experience" - any species can join. The costumes were amazing. Liam donned his dinosaur costume from Halloween. I figure extinct species count too. Here is Liam running around before the festivities began.

Here is one of my favorite costumes.

Liam and his friend, Leah, round the corner during the parade.

Liam was so excited by this mythical creature - such a cool costume!
