Liam has a gorilla that he loves. This week, it has all been about Gorilla climbing....the chair, the barn, the bedframe....Liam says, "Look, mama!" to show me what Gorilla can do!

Visit to Davis and Woodland
One of the highlights of the wedding weekend was seeing my good friends, Jackie and Eric and getting to meet their daughter Emily (finally!). It was so fun to walk around Davis with Jackie, Emily, Susan, Ben and Ella and to see the beautiful performing arts center where Eric works.
Jodie's wedding and visit to Davis
Two weekends ago, I flew down to Santa Rosa for my friends, Jodie and Steve's wedding. It was a great weekend of wine tasting, delicious food and lots of "girl-time". I got to catch up with some very dear friends and was footloose and fancy-free without Liam in tow.
Fall days at home
Here are just a few pictures from this week at home. It has been a very wet fall, so we have spent some nice, quiet days inside, taken trips to the library and local children's museum and regular walks in the rain and splashing in puddles.
We found Liam a very cool (and random) used set of animals at a local second-hand shop. I also found a retro barn that he loves. Somehow the gorilla, tiger, poodle, sheep, wolf and pigs all seem to get along just fine.
The Zoo
As part of Liam's birthday weekend celebrations, Gabe, Liam and I all headed to the Woodland Park Zoo last Saturday. It was a beautiful fall day (very much deserved by us soggy Northwesterners!). Liam loved the hippos who were swimming around in their large pool. Here is a picture of him waiting for a hippo to surface. He said, "Cow swimming mama!", which I think is a good observation when looking at a hippo in water. What a smart boy :)
Liam turns two!
Wow...it has been a while since I posted anything and it has been a busy month. I will start with the most recent excitement. Liam turned two on October 15th and we had a nice birthday party for him the Sunday before. Liam got to hang out with his Auntie P, Uncle Rory and Uncle Reuben who pushed him around on his new tricycle. (Notice that his "safety conscious" relatives tied him into his seat with some ribbon! Nice - whatever works....)
