Happy Halloween! We just returned from a fun potluck with friends and then trick-or-treating around the neighborhood. We couldn't stop laughing as our "band" of wee ones ran from house to house - what a crew! Here are a few pictures of our little sheep (thanks to about 5 bags of cotton balls!). Liam still managed to get in a lot of "ROARS!!" this evening...no quiet sheep here!

Slumber party
Last weekend, we had our friend Lori and her two kids, Sonni (3) and Angus (10 months) out to spend the night at Guemes. It was crazy, loud fun for two days. The two boys ran each other into the ground (and nearly their parents as well!). Here are a few pictures from the weekend.
Each year, a group of islanders put together these great "ghosts" that sit on the beach by the ferry dock. They blow in the wind and weather for the month of October. Liam and Sonni enjoyed climbing around the ghosts while playing on the beach.
Liam climbing - looks like he is getting a pat on the back from one of the "ghosties" (as Liam calls them).

A fall hike
We went to Guemes Island last weekend to do some fall clean-up and winter preparation on the cabin. Saturday morning dawned sunny and we headed up Mount Guemes for a little fall hike. Our Aunt Holiday joined us and shared some of her naturalist knowledge (it is always great to have a elementary school science teacher on hand!)

Pumpkin party....
Liam turns 3 on the 15th and we had his birthday party this past weekend. Luckily, it was a beautiful, crisp day...perfect for pumpkin picking. We all met at a friend's pumpkin farm in Mount Vernon. Here, the kids check out the pumpkins - picking their favorite styles....
...then we grab carts and head out to the fields. What a crew!
And...you know it....Liam spent the entire time running around the field...too excited to ever really focus on picking a pumpkin. (But I found three great ones!)
...and cake and presents
