Happy Halloween!

Happy Halloween! We just returned from a fun potluck with friends and then trick-or-treating around the neighborhood. We couldn't stop laughing as our "band" of wee ones ran from house to house - what a crew! Here are a few pictures of our little sheep (thanks to about 5 bags of cotton balls!). Liam still managed to get in a lot of "ROARS!!" this evening...no quiet sheep here!

The loot!

Slumber party

Last weekend, we had our friend Lori and her two kids, Sonni (3) and Angus (10 months) out to spend the night at Guemes. It was crazy, loud fun for two days. The two boys ran each other into the ground (and nearly their parents as well!). Here are a few pictures from the weekend.

Sonni and Liam enjoy some lunch.

Movin' logs (a favorite local pastime).

Each year, a group of islanders put together these great "ghosts" that sit on the beach by the ferry dock. They blow in the wind and weather for the month of October. Liam and Sonni enjoyed climbing around the ghosts while playing on the beach.

Liam climbing - looks like he is getting a pat on the back from one of the "ghosties" (as Liam calls them).

A fall hike

We went to Guemes Island last weekend to do some fall clean-up and winter preparation on the cabin. Saturday morning dawned sunny and we headed up Mount Guemes for a little fall hike. Our Aunt Holiday joined us and shared some of her naturalist knowledge (it is always great to have a elementary school science teacher on hand!)

Liam surveys the land.

Liam...not wanting to let go of my hand for the picture...

Liam and Holiday share a moment.

Liam and Holiday get down close and look at the local fauna...a banana slug.

Our little conductor

We found this "train conductor's" hat at a local consignment shop. Liam models his latest costume accessory. We are all about dressing up these days as Halloween approaches.

How about this side?

And this???

Silly Mama......silly Liam

More birthday...presents from Italia!

My parents have been traveling in Italy these past few weeks and on Liam's birthday, a couple presents arrived (via Aunt Perrin) from Noni and Grandpa in Italy. Liam was pretty excited.

Cool matching t-shirts for the soccer stars...

...and an apron for Mama???? Yeah, that sounds about right! :)

Liam plays with the stickers that Auntie Lu sent him. Thanks for all the great gifts everyone!

Pumpkin party....

Liam turns 3 on the 15th and we had his birthday party this past weekend. Luckily, it was a beautiful, crisp day...perfect for pumpkin picking. We all met at a friend's pumpkin farm in Mount Vernon. Here, the kids check out the pumpkins - picking their favorite styles....

...then we grab carts and head out to the fields. What a crew!

The pumpkin patch...or rather, field....

Our friends, Karl, Tommy and Stella look around for the perfect pumpkin to take home.

And...you know it....Liam spent the entire time running around the field...too excited to ever really focus on picking a pumpkin. (But I found three great ones!)

...and cake and presents

After the pumpkin picking, we headed up to my parents' house where we had lunch, cake and presents. Here we are singing "Happy Birthday" to our little Liam.

The excited birthday boy.

Lickin' the candles.

Our first Hot Wheels....thanks, Kirstin.

Liam and friends enjoy opening the presents.
